Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

If it anything like the Tenda Nova mesh that I have, you need to be connected to the Wi-Fi network that is transmitted from the Netgear Orbi, and not the home hub Wi-Fi. Yo may have to "forget" the home hub SSID, so your phone only connects to the Orbi.

To manage my Tenda Nova, my phone has to be connected to the Wi-Fi transmitted from a Tenda Nova node.

Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

Why have you still got your old wifi, you don't need the BT hub any more if you have connected the Netgear to the ONT.

Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

@licquorice I still have the modem/router from before. Not quite sure I’m following you though. I’m changing my BT Wi-fi to Orbi?

Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

Have you totally disconnected the SH2 as no longer needed?  All WiFi devices should now be connected to Orbi

Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

I'm certainly not following you.

The Netgear connects directly to the Openreach ONT the BT hub is no longer needed.

Describe exactly how you have connected things together.

Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

@licquorice ONT is connected to the Orbi router via ethernet directly. Old router (BT hub) is unplugged completely. I feel like I’m missing a simple trick here…

Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

Is it also unplugged from the mains, otherwise it will still be transmitting wifi even though not connected to anything.

Re: Netgear Orbi Mesh + SmartHub

I don't understand what you mean by rename the old wifi, the old wifi shouldn't exist.
