by going to hub manager then wireless then toggle the 5ghz off then save and exit
I would add that in the same place you can see the wifi channels and simple matter of selecting a specific channel instead of smart/auto and then save and exit
I think I'll leave well alone for a short while, just in case the latest effort from BT has worked (not holding my breath) so I don't potentially mess things up. If problem recurs, I'll certainly go with your suggestion.
Your help is much appreciated.
Just to let you know, problem has just recurred - this is half the problem, because it behaves for a day+ every time & I get my hopes up that BT has fixed it! So I've done what you suggested & moved to 2.4ghz to see if that works.
Hi @Groo.
Thanks for keeping us updated.
I'd recommend reporting this again to our technical care team so this can be looked into further.

Thank you Katie.
Just to let you know that changing the setting to 2.4ghz didn't work either! I am about to contact BT for the 8th time. They have switched us to DV & given us smart hubs without thinking that up here we do not live in cities & don't have the choice of reliable broadband channels which the hub is obviously looking for. I suspect that may be why it keeps not finding DNS' or saying 'error, network change'.
it does not matter if you live in the country or middle of a city the hub with broadcast the 2.4/5ghz the same only difference is less possible interference from surrounding neighbours and their internet connections if in the country
if the hub and replacements keep dropping wifi connection that sounds more like something in your home causing the interference and not from outside
Absolutely nothing has been changed/moved in my house (apart from what the BT & Openreach engineers did) since I got the new hub. As I have said before, never had a problem with old hub. I gather that other people, countrywide, are having the same problems.
it is even more confusing that changes allow the hub to work as expected for about a day with no problem then back to problems
how close is the hub to the hub power supply? do you change the power supply each time you get a new hub?
If it keeps working for a day and then dropping again, it sounds suspiciously like something on a timer that kicks in and disrupts the signal.
