Has anyone found a way of opting out of public wifi. I keep trying via the My BT link but despite receiving a message saying its going to be sorted, it isn't. This has been a problem for years. I tried going via a BT Guide but they clearly had no idea what they were doing so this route failed too. Are there still moderators on here that can help?
or in my bt under product(you will need your bt id )
look for the bt wifi

This just takes me to the My BT link I mentioned above which doesn’t work:

Thanks. Hopefully someone can help. I went down the live chat route and got a BT Guide who managed to mess up a whole lot of other stuff and didn't solve the wifi problem. So I don't think I'll be going down that route again!
the page must been down again hopefully a mod can see this and help you can identify a mod

Hi @And1990
I'd love to see if I can get you some help with this.
I'll send you a private message for more information. Can you have a look and get back to me when you can.
You can access your messages via the envelope icon at the top right of the screen, or click on this link, Private messages
Thanks,
Ali
In my experience, the opt out does work but seems to take a month to kick-in, for some reason.
It also appears to be linked to that particular Smart Hub. If you have to swap out the Smart Hub for some reason, you are back to square one.
The best solution is to turn off all the Wi-Fi on the hub and then plug a third-party Wi-Fi point in. Even an old Smart Hub will do, as if it isn’t connected directly to the internet the public Wi-Fi will not work.
Unfortunately, turning off the Wi-Fi will be a problem if you use BT’s mesh disks, which need it turned on, of course.

use the admin password and login details on a sticker click status then click public wifi then more info
