Smart hub 2

Hi.  We have just had fttp installed with BT smart hub 2.  I note that devices keep connecting to slower 2.4 instead of 5 and think this possibly because 5ghz on channel 36 I believe this is same as our sky q mesh?  If I log into router and change 5ghz frequency would this effect anything connected to the 5ghz band please or will thongs just stay connected?  Will this effect the workings of the router at all please,?  Thanks

Re: Smart hub 2

It is your devices that decide which band to use, not the hub. If you change the channel your device will just automatically follow it.

Re: Smart hub 2

Brilliant thanks for your quick reply, bit of a pain you can't split bands like on hub 4  and 5 etc as things like sons xbox would be much better on 5ghz I feel.  Xbox was on 5ghz until we put Sky on then it moved to 2.4ghz  hence me thinking sky was killing the signal strength as both on ch36
