BT pole marked Decayed stopping fibre installation

Go to solution

Hi,

My house is served by a pole marked D, the engineer says it means Decayed and is up for replacement. It has been like this since 2 years. Problem is Community Fibre is refusing to install the broadband on this.

Is there anyway this pole can be fixed/replaced by BT?

thanks

@saupraka

Welcome to this user forum for BT Retail phone and broadband customers.

Its Openreach not BT Retail that look after the external network.

You could ask them.

Hi @saupraka and welcome to our community.

@Keith_Beddoe advice is sound. Your best bet would be to contact Openreach via the link he's posted and they should be able to help.

Cheers

David

A D Pole doesn’t necessarily mean it has Decay.

It could be marked D for a variety of different reasons, Shallow Depth, Safe Climb Obstruction, etc.

Unless it is in Imminent Danger of Collapse and accessible via a Hoist and or Scaffolding then they’ll be in no hurry to replace it.

The post is around three months old and the OP was a Community Fibre customer , they are unlikely to be returning to see any new reply’s
