No you can just remove the license in My norton that frees up that to use on another device if need be. Personally the Norton tech help is about as much use as chocolate fireguard. Eset tech service is great they just want to block every website out . My Norton ends in 10 days and im currently debating which one to trust next

Why not add Windows Defender to the debate, assuming, of course, you are running under Windows.
Windows Defender is just included by Microsoft as another annoyance to dispute that a pup is present that other security programs don't detect.
