I am trying to register for BT ID. When I get to the box where I enter my email address it is already completed with an email address I have not used in a million years. Repeatedly, and unsuccessfully, I have tried to delete this Freeserve address and insert my gmail one. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Have you tried using a different device?
Try clearing the cookies and cache on the device you're using.

Thanks for the advice, JohnC2. I actually managed to get through to BT this morning and they were exceptionally helpful, changing that email for me.
I now have a BT ID and have been browsing it just now, trying to find out when the stolen copper cabling near us might be repaired and service restored. Well, according to the ID site there is no problem associated with my line! I have a fault reference number so will now try on bt.com/faults.
