I had a similar problem about a year ago and posted in the forum about it. The same frustrations in getting it fixed.
You will be due compensation for loss of service. This should happen automatically under ofcom regulations. However it might not ( which was my experience after 3 weeks loss of phone). You may need to push for this.
Something like £6 a day which really isn't very good considering the loss of an essential service
