Recently moved home and updated to fibre broadband and digital voice. Have plugged in dv adaptor and phone appears to work. My question follows: should BT issue a new number for digital voice as we have moved areas, as it stands I have a phone I can dial out on which won’t take incoming calls. Thanks Andy
when moving home did you elect to keep your existing phone number? with VOIP area codes are no longer important
if you connect phone to socket on back of SH2 can you make and receive calls?
Dial 17070 and it will read back your number.
Calling line information ( CLI )
If 17070 doesn’t announce the phone number, call your mobile from the DV line and he check what is displayed on the mobile screen…you can set CLI to be withheld, perhaps you have this option set , you can temp override withheld CLI by putting 1470 in front of the number you are calling .
You may have your number withheld so dial 147017070
@iniltous beat me to it.
