This is not the same as saying that he doesn't have an old router laying around somewhere, just that he doesn't have an old BT router laying around. A subtle but non the less relevant detail.

Hi yes the whole reason I need a Ethernet port is to connect it to my xbox all the way up in the attic. My router is on the bottom floor and was wondering the best option

You don't need anything. Simply run an Ethernet cable from the router to your xbox

I cant run an ethernet cable from my router to my xbox as it is all the way 2 floors down

Any other solution will require running an Ethernet cable.

Yes, I have tried to do the connection via power line adapters and was not very good at all
