Router blocking website

For over a year now I have been trying to access a particular website (nothing dodgy!) using my home wi-fi but have been unable to do so. I have tried using a MacBook and a Windows 10 laptop to no avail.
I can access it on 3G on my iPhone.

I have tried contacting BT. Last year they were unable to find any fault. Today I have spent nearly 2 hours trying to get an answer and then having got through I was cut off after 20 minutes.

I have no problems with any other websites.

Can anyone help?

Re: Router blocking website

Does it happen with different browsers?

Have you turned off web protect in MYBT?

Re: Router blocking website

I have tried Safari, Google and Bing. I haven’t turned off web protect but will have a look at it. Could this affect just one website?

Re: Router blocking website

Yes, of course, that's it's purpose.

What is the URL you are unable to reach?

Re: Router blocking website

But why only one website?

Re: Router blocking website

It's not just blocking 1 website, it's blocking websites that it considers you should be protected from. It just happens that you are only trying to access 1 of the thousands of sites it protects you from.

Re: Router blocking website

Turned it off. No different. Still won't let it load.

Re: Router blocking website

No problem accessing it here. Make sure you have no parental controls enabled.

Try changing DNS servers to 8.8.8.8 and 4.4.4.4 on your laptop/MAC
