Improved YouView Box

Hi

I used to have a Silver BT Vision Box until the service was switched off, and although it had some annoying faults, it did have some plus points over the YouView Box & perhaps consideration could be given to providing these on the YouView boxes:

A two-week program guide - if I'm going away for more than a week and there is something new starts in the second week I can't see it on the guide & therefore can't record it

A manual record feature. Even if the box didn't provide a second week of programme guide, a manual recording would allow this. I can do it on a video recorder, and could do it on my old silver box, so why not on a PVR?

The ability to adjust the start time / end time of a programme. If I record something at 8pm & then there are two programmes following at 9pm, I inevitably get the message that I can't record 3 programmes at once. On the silver box I could adjust the end time / start time to ensure there was no clash. I also knew some programmes, especially on BBC can run late, so I can put 5 mins on the end so I don't miss it.

The ability to watch "Catch up" programmes without the adverts as I could on my silver box.

My suggestions anyway.

I absolutely agree with nigelf. I have just been given a new Youview box, the G4, as my old one fell over! It is a great improvement in terms of responsiveness, however, a bit more control over recording schedules would seem to be such a simple request, bearing in mind that this was one of the most basic features of the original VHS recorders over 30 years ago. PLEASE add this to the next sofware update.
