Offer Static IP to residential customers

With BT being one of the leading broadband companies in the UK I would have though they would offer a static IP to its residential customers. With BT's competitors like Eclipse, PlusNET, O2, Virgin Media offering static IP's I would have though it would be a good idea for BT to do this too but unfortunatly its too much hastle because of the system they've got where you Dynamic IP changes when your router is switched off and on.

There are no more IPv$ addresses available, so that would be difficult.

BT are having to use CG-NAT to enable them to add more users.

Dynamic IPs do not really present any problem, provided you use a DDNS provider.

There is No Point in Having a Static IP Address if you are Residnetial Because of the Huge Secrity Issues 😄 IPv4's Are not all used up! Bt are Trying to Make Them Region Specfic. Which is Crazy!

but if you Would like a Static IP Contact BT & Upgrade to Buisness or Contact Ciena and Get your Own BT Fibre Connect 🙂 320GBps over one Channel 😉
