Spoiler tag icon

I notice that a few posts on the fora are containing spoiler tags with no spoiler. I suspect it is due to the icon looking very much like an emoticon icon and people are selecting it erroneously. Perhaps a different icon could be chosen?

I'd agree, though the emoticon icon has recently been changed to look different. The reason that people have not removed an erroneous choice is probably because it's not possible with some browsers (Firefox anyway) without cancelling and starting again.

I have often selected it by mistake, and had to edit my message to remove it. Its very confusing.

Thanks for raising this.  You do have a point, the two icons are similar and would probably contribute to the 'Spoiler' tag being included unintentionally.

Let me take this away and discuss the options with Lithium.  I will let you know the outcome.

I think it is mainly because the icon is yellow which one automatically associates with emoticons whereas the emoticon icon is black and white.
