Digital Voice

Go to solution

This is a question about being sent BT's free digital handsets.

After moving to FTTP last year I discovered a few months ago that BT should have offered me Digital Voice at the same time. They apologised nicely for their oversight, and the lady talked me through the change. She told me that I would receive two free Essential digital handsets (or an Alexa handset which I did not want). All good. Just before she submitted the order she read out the T&Cs, including the news that I might lose my landline number and be issued a new one.  I stopped the order because of that news.

I emailed BT HQ about losing the number, and got a good detailed reply: he said (after checking) that it was possible but extremely unlikely that my number would be lost.

Today the monthly bill notification included a nudge for Digital Voice again. I followed the links but the free handsets are no longer mentioned. Instead there was an implication that one either used an adapter (free) or paid for new handsets.

Does anyone know what the true position is now about the 'free' handsets?

Thanks,

Stephen

Re: Digital Voice

Hi @scbamber, the handsets are no longer sent with a conversion to Digital Voice.

Check out: Digital Voice | Digital Home Phone | BT The link also contains information on pop up events etc we're running and there may be one in your area that you may wish to attend.

Cheers

John
