Re: IPv6 on TP-Link Archer AX95 with BT Full Fibre

Go to solution

Pretty sure it needs to share the PPPoE

MyNet@gtax6000:/tmp/home/root# ifconfig ppp0
ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol
inet addr:xx.xx.xx.xx P-t-P:172.16.18.229 Mask:255.255.255.255
inet6 addr: fe80::949f:2804:f0f:556e/10 Scope:Link
UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1492 Metric:1
RX packets:7044746 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:1751536 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:3
RX bytes:8791764833 (8.1 GiB) TX bytes:350716797 (334.4 MiB)

The only address in there I need to hide is my own IPv4 address, the gateway is common and the IPv6 local gateway is only reachable from inside my LAN (so mods no need to edit!)

I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!

Yeah, didn't know whether specifying the same credentials separately might work.

Surprised there isn't a setting to define the prefix length anywhere.

Yeah i see the fe80 address on stateless, so I guess that's fine, I'm gonna try rebooting now with the suggestions the other user suggested (Thanks by the way).

So my log is full of this upon hitting the connect button (not restarted yet as people are streaming at the moment).

Do those PPP entries stop if you go back to share with IPv4?

Its trying to create a PPPoE session and failing, perhaps because you have an IPv4 session already.

Re: IPv6 on TP-Link Archer AX95 with BT Full Fibre

They do stop, and it shows me a fe80 address for IPv6 under WAN after a reboot.

devices don’t get a 2020 address or any ipv6 address for that matter now and it’s constantly looping my NAT/ portforwarding and esssntially breaking it.

I’ve disabled IPv6 for now, I suspect it’s TP-Link not supporting the 56 prefix as others have reported 🙄

I’m gonna look at returning this AX95 and maybe getting an ASUS, I like this one because it has 8 antennas and 2 5GHz bands, any suggestions?

The RT AC88U seems a popular choice.

Re: IPv6 on TP-Link Archer AX95 with BT Full Fibre

So TP-Link support tells me the AX95 is comptible the a /56 prefix.

Still doesn't explain why it won't work on BT for me and other Archer customers...

Absolute nightmare

They told me my 9980 was compatible a few years ago, I could never get that to work either!!
