Re: Any way to force a firmware update on the smarthub 2?

If you were a BT customer it updates automatically but maybe as you are not a BT customer it will not update .  However maybe this is well known to be a problem and you will find more like customers on the Plusnet forum hence the suggestion

Re: Any way to force a firmware update on the smarthub 2?

Hi @ricflairandy,

Thank you for posting. I'm sorry if your Smarthub 2 is on an older firmware.

What @imjolly and @Keith_Beddoe have posted is correct. Your best bet would be to try the Plusnet Community to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

Unfortunately, there is no way we can force a firmware update as you are not connected to BT Broadband.

Thanks,

Paddy

I am sure you mean you are going to take it to your local re-cycling centre, and not put it into domestic waste.

Anyway, what is wrong with the firmware its already running?

You could still use it as an additional wireless access point.

Re: Any way to force a firmware update on the smarthub 2?

The firmware is missing a few features that I would have liked to use.  I have the whole home wifi so dont need any access points.

Well, instead of the defeatist attitude, why not do as suggested - simply ask the question on the Plusnet community forum, as suggested by @Keith_Beddoe@imjolly and our BT Mod, @PaddyB

Oh, and think green!

Re: Any way to force a firmware update on the smarthub 2?

Or simply take it to a friend's house with BT broadband and do a temporary swap with their hub until the firmware is updated.

Re: Any way to force a firmware update on the smarthub 2?

I think it's just a matter of leaving it alone and eventually it will update.

I'm with Plusnet, and use a BT Business Smart Hub.

It seems to update the firmware OK, despite being attached to Plusnet not BT.

It hadn't updated for over a year, but 27 February 2022 it updated to SG4B1B009311
