Re: Full Fibre Installation

@linkyyork  Were you happy with the hub upstairs? If so you could run an Ethernet cable from the ONT to the hub.  You can buy pre terminated “patch” cat6 (or 5e - a bit thinner overall - will be fine upto 1Gbps) cables of various lengths that’ll be fine. The advantage being having easier direct access to the Ethernet ports on the hub where you want them. And more height is always good for general WiFi coverage around the house. You could of course make cables up yourself if you fancy it.

Re: Full Fibre Installation

Thanks, I will have to read that a couple times if only to let my fear subside.

Your advice is much appreciated.

Re: Full Fibre Installation

@pddco I had considered moving the hub but as the OP previously only had FTTC we don't know if the speed to devices  was governed by the line speed or the WiFi if you see what I mean.

Re: Full Fibre Installation

It’s also entirely possible that the OP’s PC’s are not particularly upto date and were chugging along with 100Mb Ethernet LAN , fine on upto 80Mb FTTC, then along comes much faster speeds with FTTP and the PC’s (or the Ethernet cables connecting them to the hub ) are found wanting .
